APPLE(LESS) DAYS FESTIVAL

Well, this is awkward. We’re having Apple Days. Without many apples.
The apples may be scarce this year, but the fun is decidedly not! Join The
Good Food Collective for the 18th Annual Apple(less) Days Festival, Saturday,
October 10 from 9 am–12 pm, as part of Second Saturdays on Main and the
Durango Farmers Market. Free and open to all!
This year’s festivities include the highly anticipated Apple(less) Pie
Eating Competition, apple pressing demonstrations, local vendors,
educational activities, family-friendly fun, and plenty of opportunities to
celebrate the strange, wonderful, occasionally heartbreaking business of
growing food in Southwest Colorado.
Why no apples? A late spring frost had other plans for Southwest Colorado’s
apple crop this year, taking out blossoms across the region just as our
orchards were getting started. But if 18 years of Apple Days have taught us
anything, it’s that growing food means rolling with whatever nature throws
your way!
